Southern Precision Sands, Inc., is located in Birmingham,
Alabama, on a major rail line, Norfolk Southern. We produce resin-coated
sand for the shell core and shell mold processes used in the
foundry industry. We custom coat and blend sands to customer
specifications and their operations. These customers are from
all types of foundries and metal molding processes (ductile iron,
gray iron, brass, aluminum, steel, etc.) We coat sand with a
phenolic flake resin from 1% to 5% depending on customer requirements.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

can provide training classes for your employees on the shell
process to improve their understanding and knowledge of the core
making process. Working with our customers, we have been successful
in modifying formulations and chemical make-up of the core sand
to improve cycle time and reduce scrap. |
