embedment and can be used at
closure pressures up to 12,000 psi.

The SPS Advantage
SPS Resin coating strengthens sand by distributing the pressure applied to each grain. It also encapsulates cracked grains so that the material is held in place and fewer fines are released into the propped fracture. Unlike uncoated ceramics, SPS resin-coated sand grains also resist embedment – especially important in partial monolayer propped fractures common in shale fractures. And while uncoated sand can lose its effectiveness above 5,000 psi closure pressure, SPS resin-coated sands can be used at closure pressures up to 12,000 psi.
