SPS has nine finish silos for storing in bulk:
eight 100-ton capacity and one 75-ton capacity.

100-ton-capacity packaging station for finished
coated sand allows SPS to package to customer specifications,
including super-sacks, 1.5-ton boxes, steel hopper containers
and railcar.

RESIN-COATED SAND
Southern Precision Sands, Inc. is located
in Birmingham, Alabama, on a major rail line, Norfolk Southern.
We produce resin-coated sand for the shell core and shell mold
processes used in the foundry industry. We custom coat and blend
sands to customer specifications and their operations. These
customers are from all types of foundries and metal molding processes
(ductile iron, gray iron, brass, aluminum, steel, etc.) We coat
sand with a phenolic flake resin from 1% to 5% depending on customer
requirements.
Our two production coating units provide
us with the flexibility to rapidly respond to our customers'
requirements and needs, and the capacity to meet increased customer
demand.
SPS has adequate finished storage to maintain
product for your needs both in silos and finished packages (hoppers,
bags and boxes). We have the ability to ship by rail, common
carrier, customer pickup or our trucks (within 50-mile radius.)
